44.90, 2020 explores how training at an elite-level wears away an athlete’s identity as an individual. Through the repetitive creation of Photo-Transfer Monoprints the work acts as a metaphor both for erosion of self and the nature of training as a process. 


Placed in relation to the monoprints in an exhibition context 44.90 also utilises audio records to show the extremes that an athlete undergoes to come close to competing on the world stage. In this sense the work foregrounds how fleeting such an important moment can be.
